Festival of Lights Parade

Springfield’s Center City will host a flurry of activities for the 2013 Festival of Lights season. Festival of Lights kicks off Saturday, Nov. 23rd with an evening full of events!

The Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, 5:30 p.m. at Jordan Valley Park - Join Mayor Bob Stephens for music, entertainment and the lighting of the 33-foot tree. Then parade over to Hammons Field for free hot chocolate and fireworks.

Illumination Celebration, 5:00 p.m. at the Tower Club - Enjoy a festive buffet, music, and a stunning view of the Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Cardinals Fireworks from up above Jordan Valley Park. Open to the public. Call 866-4466 for reservations.

Park Central Square Tree Lighting, 8:00 p.m. - Cap off the night with live music and entertainment as we flip the switch in Park Central Square.

Other Festival of Lights activities throughout November and December include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shows and concerts, a loft walk, Christmas light displays in Jordan Valley Park, the Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade and First Night Springfield. Festival of Lights is presented by Mercy, Midwest Family Broadcasting, the Downtown Springfield CID, the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, the Urban Districts Alliance, and the City of Springfield.

Jordan Valley Park

735 E. Trafficway St. | Downtown

The Jordan Valley Park is adjacent to Mediacom Ice Park, Hammons Field and the Creamery, home of the Springfield Regional Arts Council in downtown Springfield. The park is directly across the street from the Jordan Valley Parking Garage with more than 800 spaces of convenient downtown parking. The park features K-man, walking trails, a water feature and more.
