33 Variations

Event Time:
Dates: Sunday, September 09, 2012 - Sunday, September 09, 2012
Location: Vandivort Center Theatre
Admission: $16-22

It's a race against death across a 200-year time span. Katherine, a musicologist, is balancing her research obsession of Beethoven's Diabelli Variations with trying not to interfere in her daughter's life. Two hundred years earlier, Beethoven accept a commission to write a variation on an inconsequential waltz from the publisher Anton Diabelli and his obsession drives him to write variation upon variation.  As the health of Katherine and Beethoven decline, both must attempt to make time stand still as they rush to fulfill their genius.
