Come celebrate the 75th anniversary of the timeless classic, The Wizard of Oz, where Dorothy Gale, a young girl from Kansas, gets swept away by a tornado and is dropped in the magical Land of Oz. As she tries to find her way home, she befriends Scarecrow (who thinks he lacks a brain), Tin Man (who feels he has no heart) and Cowardly Lion (who wishes he had courage). This wonderful adventure, based on one of the most popular movies of all time, features an incredible score including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Follow the Yellow Brick Road,” “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead,” “If I Only Had a Brain,” and “We’re Off to See The Wizard.”

Diaper Derby at Battlefield Mall

Babies start your ‘engines’ as Battlefield Mall prepares to host its 2nd Annual Diaper Derby! This fun-filled race to the finish will allow local babies to compete in a series of exciting crawling contests, with the winners moving on to the grand finale. Participants in this year’s Derby must be in DIAPERS to race against each other in a fun competition that will also include other activities before, during and after the races, including face painting coloring, hands-on crafts, prize giveaways and more!The Derby will host competitive divisions of CRAWLERS, BEGINNING WALKERS, and EXPERIENCED WALKERS. The winner of each heat will receive a Battlefield Mall Giftbasket valued at $25, and each racer will receive a Battlefield Mall goody bag and a race metal. The winner from each of the heats will then compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize. The top three three winners will receive a trophy and Simon American Express Giftcards during an award ceremony.Please NotePre-registration is encouraged and is limited to the first 72 registered babies under the age of 12 months and not walking yet. Parents can sign up their speedy tykes between now and Saturday, April 18. All participating babies must check-in at 10:45 a.m. at the registration table in the JCPenney East Court.

The Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial Dedication

The College of the Ozarks, Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf, and the PGA Champions Tour have joined together to provide for The Missouri Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Please join us for a dedication of this memorial on April 22 at 2:30 p.m. at the entrance of College of the Ozarks. The public is invited. The gates will close at 2:15 p.m., so please be early. The dedication ceremony will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m. Recognition of those who served and sacrificed in Vietnam is long overdue. Thank you, Veterans, for your service and Welcome Home!
