Zombie Prom at the Historic Shrine

Oct. 11 - 6 P.M. - 10 P.M.

Join us for the first annual all ages Zombie Prom featuring music, dancing, and brains! 100% of ticket sales go to the Shrine Mosque Preservation Association Saturday, October 11th at 6pm – 10pm All ages! $7 or $25 family of four Dance all night in the Historic Shrine auditorium with contests and prizes for various zombie categories. Of course the King and Queen will be crowned! Zombie dress / make up is not required, but highly encouraged. Concessions and a photographer will be on site. Come early and stay late, but just make sure to ‘drag your body’ there!!!


Springfield Symphony Orchestra Presents: Breezes from Bohemia

We open this breezy concert with the buzzing of the Wasps in Vaughan Williams playful overture to Aristophanes’ comedy, and then the Springfield Symphony is delighted to welcome Jon Manasse, one of the greatest clarinetists performing today, on a virtuosic concerto composed specifically for him. You’ll hear the clarinet like never before in this jazzy, lush, and show-stopping piece. Finally, we’ll hear the warm, light-hearted tunes of Bohemia in Dvorak’s beloved "Symphony No. 8", full of folk music and spirited dance from Eastern Europe.

2nd Annual Ozarks Bacon Fest

Ozarks Bacon Fest – a tribute to Bacon, Bourbon & Beer – holds its 2nd Annual tasting event on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds E-Plex. Tickets give guests access to a bacon-infused wonderland where the Ozark’s best chefs prepare amazing creative bacon snacks. National brands, artisan bacon-makers, and bacon purveyors display, sample, and sell a multitude of bacon and bacon inspired products. The best craft and micro beers and select hand crafted spirits will also be on hand to sample. Celebrating bacon in all its glory, Ozarks Bacon Fest will be holding a Bacon Eating Contest and a Best Bacon Recipe contest.
