More than 40 Acrobats of China in a revolving line-up of internationally award-winning acts showcase dramatic interpretation of classic Chinese dance and physical performance art.
The observatory is used on clear evenings for laboratory work by students in beginning and intermediate astronomy courses, and by advanced undergraduate students and faculty conducting astronomical research. The observatory houses many smaller telescopes for students to use in addition to two large telescopes. The public may visit the observatory and view the night sky through telescopes at open houses or during the Ozarks Amateur Astronomers Club meetings. Open houses are conducted by the Department of Physics and Astronomy twice each year, in April or May, and in September or October.
The park houses Missouri's third largest spring. The stream is stocked daily from March 1-Oct 31, providing excellent trout fishing. The park features a nature center, a pool, dining, a store, trails, float trips, lodging and campsites.

This area is mainly forest with woodlands, glades and old fields. Facilities/features: picnic areas, unstaffed firearms range, intermittent stream and a permanent stream. A well-marked trail system provides 18 miles of trails for use by hikers, bicyclists, and horseback riders. Camping is permitted ONLY with a permit available through the Springfield Regional office.
