At 562 feet, this century-old footbridge is one of the country's longest! A complete restoration returned the footbridge to its original picturesque stature just in time for its 2002 Centennial Celebration. Bring your camera; you'll want to capture the double decker trains gliding by on 13 sets of tracks below, missing the footbridge by mere inches. Train watching from sturdy decking and eclectic shopping nearby attract visitors from all over the world. A historic marker at the base of the steps details the history of the area. Beautifully lit at night, locals refer to it as Springfield's largest (and coolest) public art sculpture.
