Cherry Blossom Kite and Piñata Festival | April 22
Kite making and flying from the Botanical Center's roof plaza and great lawn. Various activities, including free origami and other crafts, will celebrate Springfield's Sister City, Isesaki, Japan.
Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival | April 21-22
What's delicious, mouthwatering and benefits seven local children's charities? The Annual Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival where more than 75 teams from all over come together to compete for the best barbeque in an event sanction by the Kansas City BBQ Society.
Artsfest on Walnut Street | May 6-7
Artsfest is the largest fine arts festival in Southwest Missouri featuring 130 artists from 16 states, over 80 performances, food from some of Springfield’s favorite restaurants and a kids’ hands-on area with activities including Chalk-It-Up and the Claymobile, a mobile ceramic arts workshop.
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds Spring Planting Festival | May 7-8
Join 10,000 gardeners at the annual Spring Planting Festival. It’s the largest event at Baker Creek each year at the pioneer village near Mansfield, Missouri. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Come to the spring's largest celebration of all things heirloom!
NSRA Mid-America Street Rod Nationals | May 26-28
The area's largest, most spectacular street rod event with more than 2,200 cars classified as a vehicles that are 30 years old and older. Enjoy kids' and adult games, arts and crafts, an auto swap meet and a church service on Sunday.
Watercolor USA 2017 | June 2- Aug. 27
This will be the 56th exhibition of Watercolor USA, a national, annual juried exhibition recognizing aqueous media painting. The event at the Springfield Art Museum is open to artists from all 50 states and US territories judged for a variety of prizes and possible purchase by the Museum.
81st Annual Ozark Empire Fair | July 27-Aug. 5
Join in on the fun with all the great food, carnival rides, games, concerts and more. For more than 80 years, the Ozark Empire Fair has been a time for community celebration and 2017 promises to carry on the tradition.
Park Days | Aug. 4-6
Park Days is a weekend-long annual celebration that brings Springfield's African American community together, commemorating the end of slavery in the 1800s. It takes place at Silver Springs Park every year on first weekend of August, bringing together friends and family from Springfield and around the country.

Pets & Pumpkins Festival and Parade | Oct. 21
This is a pet-themed extravaganza. Two blocks of Historic Commercial Street, between Robberson and Campbell, are sectioned off for the event, which includes trick or treating (for both human and fur-kids), marshmallow roasting, inflatables, games, food, music and more. Bring your chairs and enjoy the entire day!
Thriller on C-street | Oct. 28
Following the 4 p.m. live Thriller performance, families can enjoy games alongside dining and shopping opportunities. The 7 p.m. show will feature the Dr. Deadalous Traveling Zombie Show and an evening performance of Thriller. Then continue the fun at the "after burn" Masque Macabre dance and costume competition.
23rd Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot | Nov. 23
Join the flock of more than 9,000 runners/walkers for the largest Thanksgiving 5K run/walk in Missouri. Proceeds benefit the Developmental Center of the Ozarks and the Park Board’s Scholarship Fund.
Downtown Springfield Christmas Parade | Dec. 9
Downtown Springfield celebrates its 51st Christmas Parade. The parade route starts on South Avenue and heads north to Park Central Square. The parade continues to Jordan Valley Park.
