Description

SUMMER INSTITUTE – SESSION I:
THE WIZARD OF OZ
YOUNG PERFORMERS’ EDITION
Springfield Little Theatre Summer Institutes are all-inclusive theatrical training grounds for experienced young musical theatre performers resulting in six public performances on the historic Landers Theatre stage! They provide exciting opportunities for committed students to be a part of a full-scale production.

A demanding two-week process from beginning to end, an SLT Summer Institute may best be described as “summer stock” for youth!

Summer Institute – Session I will present The Wizard of Oz Young Performers’ Edition.

The classic tale of The Wizard of Oz, in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home, has been entertaining audiences for generations. The Young Performers’ Edition is a one-hour adaptation, specially tailored to provide a rewarding experience for both young actors and young audiences.

Day 1 and days 5–9 of camp, and Summer Institute Performances will be held at The Landers Theatre, 311 East Walnut. Days 2–4 of camp will be held at the SLT Education Facility, 237 South Florence Avenue.
