VETTING CRITERIA FOR MEDIA
The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau is eager to host content creators for travel stories. Because of the high volume of requests received, minimum criteria for providing assistance were established. We do review each request and will make exceptions in some cases. The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau will arrange lodging, guided tour, meals, admission to attractions, etc. for media meeting the following criteria:
- Staff writer or freelance writer on assignment for a publication with circulation of at least 100,000.
- Online outlet has at least 30,000 unique visitors per month.
- Influencer has at least 10,000 Twitter followers or 20,000 Instagram followers.
- Freelance writer not on assignment but with a solid history of producing travel stories for quality media.
The CVB will arrange lodging and provide a press pass for:
- Staff writer or freelance writer on assignment for a publication with circulation between 50,000 and 100,000.
- Online outlet has at least 30,000 unique visitors per month
- Influencer has at least 10,000 social media followers.
- Freelance writer not on assignment who can provide at least five clips from quality media outlets.
The CVB will provide a press pass for:
- Staff writer or freelance writer on assignment for a publication with circulation of less than 50,000.
- Online outlet with less than 30,000 unique visitors per month
- Influencer with at least 5,000 social media followers.
- Freelance writer not on assignment who can provide at least two clips from quality media outlets.
Press Pass Details
The attractions listed provide complimentary admission for up to two adults and two children when the Press Pass and valid ID are presented at the admission gate. Press pass offers are subject to change without notice.
