The Convention & Visitors Bureau is accepting nominations for the 2023 Salute to Travel & Tourism Awards.

Nominations can be made in five categories at http://bit.ly/CVBAwardNominations. Previous award recipients are eligible to receive awards. Click here to see a list of those honored in the past.

Awards are presented in five categories:

  • The Tracy Kimberlin Pinnacle Award is for individuals who have been active in the travel industry for many years and made substantial contributions to the betterment of the Springfield area’s travel industry. This award was renamed this month in honor of CVB president/CEO Tracy Kimberlin who is retiring at the end of the year after serving the bureau for 35 years.
  • The Hospitality Award is presented to an attraction, lodging facility or restaurant which demonstrates outstanding hospitality to the traveling public and exhibits a team spirit in promoting the growth of Springfield area travel and tourism.
  • The Diplomat Award is presented to a government official, organization or employee who has provided significant support to the Springfield area travel industry.
  • The Spotlight Award is presented to an individual, business or organization not usually considered part of the travel and tourism industry for noteworthy contributions in advancing travel and tourism in the Springfield area.
  • The Ambassador Award is presented to individuals or organizations who generated significant economic impact for the area by working to encourage tourism or secure a major convention or event in Springfield.

Mark your calendar for the awards banquet set for April 27 at the White River Conference Center. Details about ticket sales will be announced soon.
