Sports

With everything from AA baseball to amateur sporting events, Springfield is definitely a sports town.

Fans pack the stands all summer at Hammons Field, home to the Springfield Cardinals, AA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. You’ll also see sports lovers cheering for the Bears at Missouri State University’s JQH Arena and Hammons Student Center, the Drury Panthers and other college teams. And check out the city’s professional tennis team, the Springfield Lasers, at the world-class Cooper Tennis Complex.

Year-round there are dozens of other sports events taking place in Springfield, including the National Christian HomeSchool Championships that bring thousands of people to the city annually for basketball and other events. The Missouri State High School Activities Association also brings multiple sporting events to the city.

Softball, track, swimming and more. The list of sports in Springfield goes on and on.

When considering Springfield for a sporting event you have the services of the Springfield Sports Commission and the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau. To learn more about the Springfield Sports Commission, please visit our website springfieldmosports.org.
