The Missouri House Budget Committee finalized a proposed state budget that includes $15.9 million for the Division of Tourism, a $5 million increase over Gov. Eric Greitens’ proposed budget.

The legislature returns from spring break March 26, the full house is expected to begin deliberations on the proposed state budget offered by the House Budget Committee.

The budget must be approved by the legislature by May 11. The 2018 legislative session ends May 18.

The legislature approved a $20.9 million budget for the Division of Tourism last year but the governor slashed $10 million from that figure.
