The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau works year-round to generate positive media coverage for the city as a travel destination. The public relations team conducts press tours for media visiting the city, answers questions about Springfield and the surrounding area for media, pitches stories to a variety of media outlets, distributes news releases about the city’s travel amenities and represents the city at trade shows for travel and outdoor media.
For January through September this year, the CVB has had a hand in 206 media placements in media outlets outside the Springfield area with a publicity value of $717,000, according to Cision, the CVB’s media clipping service.
Along with publicity value, Cision analyzes stories in a variety of ways. Click the links below to see some of the information available. The Jan-Aug PR Report is a summary while the clips report sorts the articles by the businesses mentioned and provides links to the stories when they are available online.
Note that these reports – as with any analysis of public relations efforts – are not perfect, and they don’t include every positive story printed about the city; they’re just articles where the CVB’s public relations staff helped make the stories happen.
