Mark your calendar for the 2022 Salute to Travel & Tourism awards banquet and fundraiser on April 28.
The Salute to Travel & Tourism recognizes the “Best of the Best” in the Springfield area tourism industry by presenting five distinct awards highlighting tourism achievement. The program celebrates achievements and outlines plans for the coming year to increase tourism and boost the Springfield area economy.
Purchase tickets or a table by March 31 to take advantage of early-bird pricing. Until March 31, single tickets are $60 and a table of eight is $450. Beginning April 1, prices are $75 for a single ticket and $525 for a table.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Springfield Regional Arts Council.
For individuals who have been active in the travel industry for many years and made substantial contributions to the betterment of the Springfield area’s travel industry.
Gary Ellison, owner of Gary Ellison Productions, a marketing and public relations agency in Springfield.
Presented to a government official, organization or employee who has provided significant support to the Springfield area travel industry.
Leslie Forrester is executive director of the Springfield Regional Arts Council
For individuals or organizations that generated significant economic impact for the area by working to encourage tourism or secure a major convention or event in Springfield.
Fred Spaulding is a military reunion planner who has brought dozens of groups to Springfield.
Pam Prentice has more than 20 years of experience as a hotel general manager in Springfield.
Presented to an individual, business or organization not usually considered part of the travel and tourism industry for noteworthy contributions in advancing travel and tourism in the Springfield area.
Trailspring is recognized for its trail development and the Singletrack Mind Festival that helped grow the local tourism economy.
Presented to an attraction, lodging facility or restaurant which demonstrates outstanding hospitality to the traveling public and exhibits a team spirit in promoting the growth of Springfield area travel and tourism.
BigShots Golf is a new attraction on the north side of Springfield that hosts individuals and groups as well as events.
The evening will include a plated dinner, cash bar and awards banquet. All proceeds will go to the Springfield Regional Arts Council which contributes to the cultural fabric of our city, making it an incredible place to live and visit.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at the White River Conference Center.
