You are forewarned on the menu that this sandwich is "messy but good" and that's definitely the truth. Sliced beef, peppers and onions are slow cooked in a beef and dark roux gravy, topped with pepper jack cheese and served on French Bread with a creole mustard sauce. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

With a location in downtown Springfield and one on the southside, Chicago Cheesesteak Company serves up a number of mouthwatering sandwiches but the Chicago, their signature sandwich, seems to be the most popular. It includes American cheese, fresh lettuce, fresh tomatoes, diced raw onions, seasonings, oil and vinegar on toasted bread with your choice of chicken or steak.
The City Smokestack at City Butcher
Come hungry for this one! The Smokestack includes brisket, pork belly, pulled pork and your choice of sausage link piled high between two buns. This Texas-style barbecue joint has become quite the popular place in Springfield.
