Two travel journalists are scheduled to visit Springfield in February and another was in the city earlier this month.
Candacy Taylor was in Springfield along with a film crew from the new TV network VICE filming a documentary about Route 66. Taylor is an author, photography and cultural documentarian whose work has been featured in a variety of media.
Diana Lambdin Meyer is a freelance journalist who has written for dozens of publications and online media, including her blog mojotraveler. She will be in the city Feb. 19-21.
Bill Clevlen, host of Bill on the Road, will be in Springfield Feb. 28-March 1.
In 2015, the Convention & Visitors Bureau organized nearly 40 press tours for travel media resulting in dozens of stories about Springfield as a travel destination.
