The focus of the Missouri Travel Alliance's next workshop is "Your Story!" The workshop will take place from 9:45 a.m.-3;15 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Columbia.

Some of the sessions include:

Finding Your Story: Identifying Characters and Stories that Deserve Attention - The distinct people and places that make up your destination are just what tourists and writers are looking for. Was your local sushi chef a classical pianist? Was your local dive bar once a cheese factory? Learn how to partner locally to share what makes your destination stand out from the rest.

Showing Your Story: Using Images to Promote Your Destination - Which platforms, apps and strategies are the most user-friendly and easiest ways to share the beauty of your destination? Learn how to capture the best shots of your destination, share them with potential visitors, and capitalize on user-generated content.

Amplify Your Story: Working with Publications to get the Word Out - The media landscape is always evolving, including in the travel industry. Hear from editors and writers about how they assign stories, what travel topics they're looking for, what they're not, and what they need from destinations that are pitching them.
