The Convention & Visitors Bureau offers a variety of ways for businesses to reach out to visitors, including a Visitors Guide, website, airport advertising and more.

New advertisers include Golden Corral and Springfield Express Hockey Club, which join more than 300 other businesses that understand the value of marketing to bring tourists in the doors.

Joseph Gidman at Cafe Cusco is one business owner who credits the CVB with helping his business grow.

“Since our involvement with the CVB, we have seen a dramatic increase in the flow of tourism traffic into our restaurant,” Gidman said. “There are a lot of travelers along the I-44 corridor and the CVB website and literature makes people stop and visit Springfield rather than simply passing by. Being a unique, local and family owned business, we see the benefit in that those customers choose us rather than the chain restaurants along the highway. They want to experience something uniquely Springfield and find that through your website. In terms of financial benefit, I would estimate our business has grown 20% simply from advertising with the CVB.”
