For December, when compared with December 2021, hotel occupancy in Springfield was down 8.7% and average daily rate was up 2.7%, resulting in room revenue being down 2.7%.
For the year, occupancy dipped slightly from 64.7% to 63.6% (a 1.7% decline), average daily rate increased from $88.44 to $97.90 (an increase of 10.7%) and revenue per available room increased from $57.22 to $62.29 (an 8.9% increase). As a result, room revenue in 2022 compared with 2021 was up 10.6%.
