It’s fall, y’all! That means new menu items are dropping, or possibly have already dropped, at many of our great local restaurants in the area. From seafood and meatloaf to pumpkin spice and fried pickle fries, there is something new for everyone to enjoy! Let’s dig into a handful from here in the Springfield area.
Retro Metro
Seafood is the name of the game over at Retro Metro for their new fall menu. After a family vacation to the East Coast, chefs Tiny and Hana revamped the menu that launched in September and added some new items. Carla’s Clams Casino are fresh clams baked with shallots, spinach, and bacon stuffing, and then finished with parmesan! The Cousin Clam Chowder is packed with fresh clams, potatoes, onions, leeks, and fresh herbs. Its super creamy and has a great finish with the oyster crackers. They also have the Connecticut Cousins lobster roll made with seven ounces of Maine lobster, knuckle and claw meat with warm butter and dill. They serve it in a toasted baguette with parmesan garlic fries!

Split Social Kitchen
Split Social Kitchen already has a reputation for creating large plates of creative food! So, when they announced their new fall lunch menu, I just knew it would be a good one! Of course, the dishes’ names will be just as fun as the food, so let’s dive into the Taylor Swiss! Grilled ham, Swiss cheese, fried pickles, mustard cream, red onion, and lettuce are wrapped in a flour tortilla and then grilled! Continuing this little pickle theme, The Fickle Pickle is a fried chicken sandwich topped with garlic, mayo, shredded lettuce, house-made ranch, sliced tomato, red onion, and a toasted potato bun. They serve it with a side of pickle fries and ranch!

The Ozark Mill

Known for its views of the Finley River and creating beautiful plates of food, The Ozark Mill has always been a spot that makes food that will forever be picture-worthy! The market menu has some new items available just in time for fall. One of the latest beverages is the River Orchard martini. It is apple brandy, apple juice, cinnamon, lemon and bitters. Perfect for sitting by the fire pit and enjoying with friends! The Dogwood Canyon bison meatloaf has an apple butter glaze and is served with roasted mushrooms and snap peas. I am in for more items made with bison, so I know this meatloaf will be a hit!

Lindsay’s Kitchen

Nothing says fall like delicious baked goods and coffee! Lindsay’s Kitchen over at 14 Mill Market always has tasty goodies for when the leaves start to change. They have returned the Cinnamon Apple Muffin and the Maple Pecan Cookies. They have also introduced the new Pumpkin Cake, topped with cream cheese icing and their in-house made pumpkin spice seasoning on top! You can also pick up a bag of their take and bake Pumpkin spice pancake mix to make at home with the family! I bet these items will pair perfectly with any great coffee that Lindsay and her crew create daily!
