Cruse Dog Park is the very first off-leash dog park in the Springfield area! You can pay an annual fee of $35 or just get a $10 day pass to try it out first. Don't forget to bring your dog's vaccination records for park entry.
Ritter Springs Park
This is the perfect rural park for you and your furry friends to explore. Ritter Springs Park is located northwest of Springfield city limits and has over 245 acres of space, with beautiful streams and lakes, and an easy nature trail loop.
Valley Water Mill Park
Valley Water Mill Park is a popular fishing spot, and the perfect place to step into nature with your dogs. Dogs do have to stay on leash, but you can explore the 1.5-mile trail around the lake and other side trails.
Nathaniel Greene/ Close Memorial Park
Springfield's top-rated park, Nathaniel Greene, is a favorite among dog lovers. It offers over 113 acres for you and your pup to explore. Don't miss the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden during your visit, featuring ponds and a meditation moon bridge.
Phelps Grove Park
Located just down the road from Missouri State University, Phelps Grove Park is a perfect central location to bring your dogs. Dogs have to stay on leash here.
Sequiota Park
Sequiota Park is a beautiful park that connects to the Galloway Creek Greenway Trails, which run through the park and into the Springfield Nature Center. Dogs are welcome on the trail but are not allowed in the Nature Center.
