When it comes to getting customers to shop at his business, Mike Cook relies on the Convention & Visitors Bureau to make sure people attending conventions and other group events in the city know Mike’s Unique Collectable and Antique Flea Market exists.
He has a listing in the Visitors Guide published annually by the CVB and on the bureau’s website.
“Working with the CVB helps us market our store to groups holding events in Springfield that we would otherwise not have access to,” Cook said. “We like to contact those groups to welcome them to Springfield and invite them to our store.”
Cook’s store is among more than 300 businesses that reach out to visitors through the CVB’s marketing programs.
Businesses that recently partnered with the CVB are the following:
- Blue Raven Emporium
- DotPops Popcorn
- Lucas Oil Speedway
- Southminster Presbyterian Church
- Tubby’s Diner
