Staff from the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau and other tourism entities around the state will attend Capitol Days for Tourism Feb. 21-22 in Jefferson City.

Travel and tourism representatives from around the state will meet with legislators to garner support for tourism-related legislation and host a popular pancake breakfast.

The schedule includes the following:

  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 21: Attend “Legislatively Speaking” for an overview of Missouri’s budget and the current state of Missouri’s economy, a panel discussion about legislative priorities and how to make your capitol visit more effective and an update from the Missouri Division of Tourism. The cost for this workshop is $25 per person and includes a box lunch.
  • 3-5 p.m. Feb. 21: Missouri Travel Council Board of Directors meeting.
  • 5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 21: Missouri Travel Council’s awards event will take place. Awards categories include the Gil Elmore Service Award, the Division of Tourism Award, the Friend of MTC Award, the Kay Schwinke Education Award, the Legislative Service Award and the President’s Award. Cost for this event is $25 per person.
  • 7-9 a.m. Feb. 22: The popular Pancake Breakfast will take place on the third floor of the Capitol Rotunda. The cost is $20 per person and includes breakfast.

Capitol Days for Tourism is jointly sponsored by Missouri Travel Council, Missouri Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus, Missouri Association of Fairs & Festivals, Missouri Hotel & Lodging Association and Asian American Hotel Owners Association.
