The Missouri House Appropriations Committee for Economic Development on Wednesday approved a $6 million for the Division of Tourism with $100,000 earmarked for the Missouri Film Commission, within the Division of Tourism.
The total recommended division budget exceeds $19 million.
The tourism budget now goes to the full House Budget Committee.
The Missouri Travel Council annually hosts Capitol Days for Tourism in Jefferson City to meet with legislators and encourage them to support tourism-related legislation.
The event this year is Feb. 27-28 and the Springfield CVB is encouraging our constituents to participate and help spread the word that adequate funding for tourism is important.
Along with informal meetings with legislators, the event also includes the Capitol Days Workshop and the popular pancake breakfast in the capitol to which legislators are invited to attend and flip pancakes. Cost is $20.
