Pre-production is well underway for the 2021 Official Missouri Travel Guide published annually by the Missouri Division of Tourism. The deadline for updating or adding free listings is June 26 and the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau is encouraging local businesses to participate so the area is represented well.

Please access your account at industry.visitmo.com and update your FREE listing by June 26, 2020. Keep in mind that you may have multiple listings that will require your attention. All of your destinations and attractions are listed under “My Listings” on your account’s main page. Remember that the only listings that are Travel Guide eligible are Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries, Hotels/Places to Stay and Things to Do (except specialty/unique retailers). Listings not within those categories will be considered for the VisitMO.com website.

Even if there are no changes on your listing(s), you must access and submit them. This action is very important because listings not updated since June 2019 may be excluded from the 2021 Travel Guide.

Existing participants will notice on their account that new fields for a marketing contact (name, title, phone number and email address) have been added. MDT occasionally needs to contact destinations and attractions for content purposes (articles, social media, features for the Travel Guide, trip ideas), as well as inviting them to events such as the Governor’s Conference on Tourism and other conferences and educational opportunities. That information will not be shared and there will be fewer than six emails per year.

If you have questions on updating your listing(s), please contact Barb Brueggeman, Travel Guide editor, at barbara.brueggeman@ded.mo.gov or web editor Alex Wilkshire (alexandra.wilkshire@ded.mo.gov).
