More than $10,000 was raised through the efforts of Houlihan’s restaurants in Springfield for relief of victims of the Joplin-area devastation. The management team of O’Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC provided 15 percent of sales from their Houlihan’s restaurants June 2-5 to Convoy of Hope which provided food and other necessities to those in need. KOLR and KSFX partnered with the O’Reilly team.
"As a community & family-based organization, the O’Reilly Hospitality Management team began working immediately upon hearing of the Joplin devastation to find the most efficient and significant way to support the Joplin relief effort,” said Tim O’Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of O’Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC. "Our goal is to provide an easy way for the community to get involved and help us all lend our support to Joplin.”
“This is a perfect example of neighbors helping neighbors,” said Kevin Longley, General Manager of Houlihan’s North. “We have a loyal customer base, so we were able to get the word out to them through email and news updates on KOLR 10 and KSFX. They were so pleased to be able to participate in helping those in need simply by visiting a favorite restaurant.”
Upon learning that Houlihan’s restaurants raised over $10,000, Smith said, “That is incredible. I am thrilled to hear that because this is going to be an ongoing effort and an ongoing struggle for the people of Joplin. Every little bit helps, and with everyone working together, we can make a huge difference.”
