Strategic Selling for Tourism Professionals, an industry-specific, sales-focused education workshop, is set for 9:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia.

Megan Rapp, assistant director and group sales manager for the Hannibal Convention & Visitors Bureau, will kick things off as she discusses strategic selling from the CVB/DMO perspective. Next up, Ann Walters, Director of Sales for Tan-Tar-A Resort, will provide attendees with sales insights from the hotel/resort perspective. Cindy Daffron, executive director of Pony Express National Museum, will close out the morning session as she provides perspective from the attraction side of tourism.

After a networking luncheon, the workshop will delve into the world of customer relationship management. While CRM software is most commonly used to manage a business-customer relationship, CRM software systems are also used in the same way to manage business contacts, employees, clients, contract wins and sales leads. Options include Infotrac, Simpleview, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.

The day will end with a panel discussion.

The cost is $45 for Missouri Travel Council members and $60 for non-members. Lunch is included. Click here to register.
