The Missouri Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus and Missouri Travel Council, along with organizations throughout the state, are working to encourage Gov. Eric Greitens to restore $10 million withheld from the Division of Tourism’s FY18 budget.
In that effort, MACVB and MTC issued a statement that was sent to the governor.
The statement explains the value of tourism to the state’s economy and that the industry creates jobs. It also expresses concern about the impact on the division’s Cooperative Marketing Program, a matching funds program utilized by many destination marketing organizations throughout the state.
