Tickets are on sale for the 2020 Salute to Travel and Tourism Awards banquet. That evening the Convention & Visitors Bureau is honoring Rick and Mary McQueary with the Pinnacle Award, which recognizes those who have made substantial contributions to the betterment of the Springfield area’s travel industry. The McQuearys played a significant role in bringing the award-winning History Museum on the Square to fruition, including heading up the capital campaign for the project.
Others who have helped contribute to the success of Springfield's travel industry also will be honored:
- Diplomat Award - Brian Weiler, director of aviation at the Springfield-Branson National Airport.
- Ambassador Award - Premier Baseball.
- Spotlight Award - Jeff Houghton, host of “The Mystery Hour.”
- Hospitality Award - Springfield Cardinals.
Tickets can be purchased at www.springfieldmo.org/banquet. The cost is $60 per person or $575 for a table of ten. The event begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 at the White River Conference Center.
