Springfield-Branson National Airport soon will have two more nonstop destinations available for travelers.
Allegiant begins service between Springfield (SGF) and Destin-Fort Walton Beach airport (VPS) May 25 and United Airlines starts service from Springfield to Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) June 8.
Tickets for both routes are available now at www.allegiant.com and www.united.com.
The service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach is seasonal, running from May 25 to August 15, with two flights a week. It's a great way to visit the Gulf Coast and the white beaches of the Florida panhandle.
United's Houston service gives Springfield airport customers more options for flying south. From Houston you can fly nonstop to leisure destinations such as Belize, Cancun, St. Thomas, Nassau, and Guadalajara. Business destinations include Monterrey, Mexico City, Panama City, San Paulo and Santiago and others.
The addition of these new routes gives Springfield an average of 28 daily departures, on four airlines: Allegiant, American, Delta, and United. They provide nonstop flights to: Los Angeles, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Tampa/Saint Petersburg, Orlando and Punta Gorda/Fort Myers.
