About 1,400 people will be at the Expo Center in Springfield for the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church June 5-8.
Clergy and at least one lay person from 855 churches in Missouri will attend the conference that includes educational sessions and information about best practices. Retiring clergy also will be honored and new clergy ordained.
Speakers at the conference include:
- Rev. Sue Nilson Kibbey, director of Missional Church Initiatives of the West Ohio Conference.
- Rev. David Gilmore with Centennial United Methodist Church in Kansas City.
- Rev. Alice Fowler with Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.
- Rev. Jeff Brinkman with Woods Chapel in Lees Summit and, an ordained elder in the Missouri Conference.
The conference theme is “Discipleship: Growing in Grace.”
