Nearly 6,000 people will be in Springfield July 6-9 for the Jehovah’s Witnesses Summer Regional Convention and they’re expected to spend about about $2.3 million in the city while here.

The group will meet at JQH Arena on the Missouri State University Campus and a variety of topics will be presented in a variety of formats, including brief discourses, interviews and videos.

Admission is free and no collections are taken.

This is one of many conventions conducted by Jehovah's Witnesses around the world.

“Nearly 13 million persons attended our conventions last year worldwide,” said David A. Semonian, spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses at their world headquarters in Warwick, New York. “We hope to have an even larger audience this year.”
