A recent survey suggests Springfield and Branson champion construction of facilities that meet meeting planners needs and use a multi-channel platform to communicate with planners about the destinations.
The study conducted by H2R Market Research for the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau and Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB surveyed 171 meeting planners to determine how the destinations could better understand the needs of meeting planners and determine the best channels to connect with them.
Results of the survey showed both destinations are not competing well in Missouri due to lack and quality of meeting space.
Other findings showed the meeting planners consider one of Springfield’s strengths to be affordability while Branson stands out for entertainment and variety.
The study also indicated activities for meeting attendees are an important consideration for planners when choosing a destination, planners are more likely to be inspired to book in a destination based on input from others and once inspired, online tools are most often used to research a destination.
