influencersThe CVB, in partnership with Springfield-Branson National Airport, conducted a “One Jet Jaunts” marketing campaign including hosting a trip of influential bloggers, public relations activities, social media posts and limited advertising highlighting the fact that Springfield has non-stop flights to 11 major destinations.

Local bloggers, Emma Chapman and Elsie Larson authors of A Beautiful Mess, helped the CVB develop an itinerary showcasing the city to potential visitors. Five top-tier bloggers from target cities were invited to visit Springfield June 2-5 to experience the city and its amenities. The itinerary for the trip is now available on the CVB website for future visitors to enjoy.

The bloggers shared photos and stories about their experiences in the city and continue to post about the trip on their blogs and social channels. Follow the conversation at #OneJetJaunts on Twitter and Instagram and on their individual blogs.

The campaign also includes pitching stories to traditional media in target cities including Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Tampa. Susan Wade, PR manager, and Adam McMullin, interactive content coordinator, will travel to Dallas in August to pitch stories about Springfield to editors and travel writers in that area.

The goal of the campaign is to increase awareness of Springfield as a travel destination and encourage air travel to the city.
