Lisa Perez, sales manager for the Convention & Visitors Bureau, received the Supplier of the Year Award from the Missouri Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Planners.

The annual award is for active participation in the organization during the 2014-15 year, said Annette Wallace, president of the organization

Wallace said Perez went “above and beyond” in serving the chapter’s needs. Along with serving on the board, Perez took responsibility for helping plan the holiday extravaganza, volunteers for a variety of projects and simply does more than what’s expected.

“We’re glad she’s part of the chapter,” Wallace said. “I’m glad she’s on the board. She makes my job a lot easier.”

Receiving the award at the SGMP monthly educational training seminar June 11 in Jefferson City was an honor and a surprise, said Perez, a member of the organization for about five years who currently is serving a two-year term on the board of directors.

“I am very honored to receive the Supplier of the Year award and value the friendships I have made along the way,” Perez said. “If you are a  government meeting planner and not familiar with SGMP, I would encourage you to take a look at all the resources they have to offer. It's a great organization to be a part of.”
