The 2014 advertising campaign targeting leisure travelers is under way.
Television ads began running Jan. 1 on a show called “The Bass Pros,” a weekly program on The Outdoor Channel. The television ads are part of a nearly $1 million campaign made possible through the Missouri Division of Tourism’s Cooperative Marketing Program and local partnerships with Bass Pro Shops and the Springfield Cardinals. The remainder of the campaign begins in March with all media designed to encourage visitors to “See You in the Middle of It All” by discovering all that the community has to offer guests. The multi-media campaign includes magazine, newspaper, television and digital media ad placements and will conclude in June.
The 2013 campaign generated more than 97,000,000 impressions, 950,000 website visits and nearly 34,000 inquiries. A 2013 Conversion Study conducted by H2R Market Research indicates that of those who inquired, the campaign generated more than 17,000 visiting parties with an estimated gross spend of more than $9.6 million in the community.
