About 150 Vietnam War military police veterans who served the country from 1965-72 and their family members will meet in Springfield Oct. 10-13 for a reunion.
The veterans were members of an elite group of soldiers who served the country in Military Police Companies 212, 595 and 981 with sentry dogs that helped patrol and protect vital strategic areas and save the lives of soldiers during the war.
The reunion will take place at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Oasis Convention Center. The group began having reunions in 1995 and meets every other year.
Regimental Command Sergeant Major John McNeirney, the top enlisted military police service member at Fort Leonard Wood, will be the guest speaker at a dinner Saturday evening.
