The CVB’s visitor information centers have been hopping this year! From January through June, the Route 66 Springfield Information Center downtown served 3,589 people and the center at the airport served 3,039.

Those visitors included 394 people from more than 30 countries, such as Australia, Belarus, Chile, Hungary, South Africa, South Korea, United Kingdom, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Italy, Brazil, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, Mongolia, China, Mexico, New Zealand, Sweden, France, Columbia, Switzerland, Malta, Ukraine, Dominican Republic and Croatia.

Tourism is a significant economic driver for Springfield and surrounding communities. The annual economic impact of tourism in Greene County is $918 million.
