THE HISTORY MUSEUM ON THE SQUARE
Take a step back in time to the History Museum on the Square. The museum opened in 2019 and has more than 18,000 square feet of space. There are three floors with eight dedicated spaces including a Welcome Center, six permanent galleries and traveling exhibit space.
Highlights of the museum include a transportation gallery with a time machine built into a replica of a trolley car, an immersive reenactment chamber of the Hickok-Tutt confrontation, interactive touchscreen maps of Springfield comparing vintage photos to contemporary depictions, and a 66-foot-long timeline and map of the Iconic Mother Road. Perhaps one of the most dramatic features is a Frisco locomotive engine that literally emerges through the upper mezzanine wall.
ITTY BITTY CITY
For some indoor fun with the kids, Itty Bitty City is the perfect place for hours of educational, hands-on play. Let the little ones roam in a miniature city complete with a fire station, grocery store, zoo and more created to inspire make-believe play.
JORDAN VALLEY ICE PARK’S PUBLIC ICE SKATING

THE ROUTE 66 CAR MUSEUM
Car enthusiasts can step inside and view over 70 car models that owner Guy Mace has been collecting since 1990 at the Route 66 Car Museum. View brass-era vehicles that date back to the early 1900s to celebrity cars that are famous for their time on the big screen. The museum houses seven Jaguars, two Rolls Royces, a 1963 Morgan owned by Desert Storm's General Norman Schwarzkopf, the famous ghost slinging Ecto-1 from “Ghostbusters,” a Gotham Cruiser and more.

Take a tour of the Springfield Art Museum and see hundreds of beautiful art pieces.
