The Springfield Arts Community is more than just artwork. The Sculpture Walk, Artsfest, Cider Days, the Springfield Art Museum, the theatres, the opera, the orchestra and the ballet are all a part of Springfield’s art scene. These events bring in a surprising amount of money from the community and from tourists coming to see the shows, and that’s why we’re giving them a shout out during National Travel & Tourism Week May 3-9.

A study from the Springfield Regional Arts Council shows: 

• Direct spending on Springfield's arts industry totals $26.9 million
• 1,065 local jobs are supported by the arts
• Local residents earn $20.5 million in household income due to the arts 
• Local government receives $1.3 million in revenue from Springfield arts
• State government receives $1 million in revenue from Springfield arts

Many of the shows, performances, and events have been canceled for this year or rescheduled to a later date. We encourage you to seek out the arts this year by attending these performances when possible and to attend the events scheduled at later dates to keep the art scene alive in Springfield.
