Job Summary:
As our Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and disseminating the Springfield story. This role demands a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and a proactive, positive approach to promoting the city. Working closely with our agency and community partners, you will lead the charge in developing both internal and external communication strategies that spotlight Springfield's attractions and culture, amplifying our message to reach a broader audience.
Responsibilities:

Design and implement innovative communication strategies in collaboration with agency partners to boost Springfield’s image and visibility.

Cultivate compelling narratives that highlight Springfield's charm to be used for both public relations and marketing purposes.

Create/oversee the content included in all marketing materials, ensuring consistency with our brand voice and strategic objectives.

Spearhead our storytelling efforts, identifying opportunities to showcase what makes Springfield unique and appealing.

Guide the CVB's content strategy development, creating/overseeing engaging content and interacting with our community to strengthen our online presence including but not limited to the CVB’s social media, blog, website, area guides, marketing materials, etc.

Forge partnerships with local entities, media, and stakeholders to reinforce Springfield as a premier destination.

Evaluate the impact of communication campaigns, refining strategies to enhance outreach and engagement.

Act as a brand ambassador at events and meetings, embodying the positive spirit of Springfield and the CVB.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
-
At least 5 years of professional experience in communications or public relations, with a preference for backgrounds in tourism, hospitality, or related sectors.

Outstanding writing, storytelling, and editorial skills, with a knack for engaging diverse audiences.

Proficiency in digital marketing and social media trends.

Exceptional project management abilities, comfortable navigating a fast-paced, creative work environment.

Demonstrated success in creating and executing strategic communication plans.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly creative, innovative, and dynamic Marketing Coordinator to become an integral part of our fast-paced marketing team. This role is tailored for an imaginative and proactive individual who is deeply passionate about pushing the boundaries of marketing creativity. You'll play a crucial role in the efficient operations of the department, enhancing partner relations, organizing marketing strategies, analyzing social media engagement, and supporting a broad spectrum of marketing, communications, design projects, and more. Responsibilities:

Marketing Support: Assist in the execution and support of marketing strategies developed to boost our brand presence and meet our objectives. Participate in diverse marketing initiatives across digital, out-of-home, social, print, and more.

Social Media Management: Participate in developing captivating content for various social media platforms, engage with our audience, manage partnerships with other brands on social media, and utilize analytics to gauge campaign effectiveness.

Partner Relations: Act as a vital link between our marketing team and external partners, coordinating efforts to ensure the flawless execution of joint marketing strategies and campaigns.

Content Creation: Provide design support for marketing materials that resonate with our audience while staying true to our brand’s ethos that may be used for social media or digital marketing efforts.

Communications: Contribute to the creation and distribution of various communications materials, such as press releases, newsletters, email campaigns, etc., to effectively reach our target demographics.

Event Coordination: Offer support in organizing marketing events, handling logistics, managing vendors, and conducting promotional activities.

Analytics and Reporting: Leverage analytics tools to monitor campaign performance, generate insightful reports, and suggest optimizations for future marketing endeavors.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.

1-3 years of experience in a marketing role, with a solid portfolio showcasing successful marketing campaigns you've contributed to.

Exceptional creativity in problem-solving, content creation, and in conceptualizing marketing strategies.

Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Deep familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing trends, and the ability to anticipate market shifts.
What we’re looking for:

The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau was formed in 1979 as the hospitality arm of the Chamber of Commerce. The Bureau was incorporated independently as a not-for-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Missouri in 1989. The CVB is a marketing and service organization that contracts annually with the City of Springfield to promote economic development through travel and tourism.
