Partner Development Manager

Summary: Responsible for generating private revenue by means of advertising sales and management of the Partner Marketing Partnership Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops sales strategies for CVB advertising sales products that includes existing CVB publications, digital advertising products, digital signage and more. 

  • Manages Partner Development Team by setting goals, strategy and direction for partnership sales. 

  • Represent businesses who partner with the CVB in a multitude of avenues. Promote sale of advertising in CVB publications, Internet advertising, transparency displays, kiosks, and brochure insertions.  

  • Develop and implement additional innovative revenue generation for the Bureau.

  • Maintain updated media kit with all available advertising opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Springfield advertisers, marketing partners, community leaders and local businesses.

  • Maintain a client history database.

  • Represent bureau at area chamber meetings, community organizations and events to encourage regional collaboration of tourism-marketing.

  • Revitalize the Springfield Area Marketing Partnership Program through membership sales, service and retention.

  • Work with Bureau staff and volunteers to ensure clients are appropriately represented in all Bureau correspondence and promotion.

  • Solicit sponsorships for the annual banquet and benefit.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven track record with professional relationship building.

  • Ability to develop sales strategies and goals for self and others.

  • Strong attention to detail needed for proofreading website content, reports and correspondence.

  • Excellent organizational skills are required to maintain meticulous files.

  • Ability to set goals and prioritize tasks to maintain workload.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.

  • Ability to recall information such as dates, names, files, and projects.

  • Ability to work well within a membership organization and participate in committee decision-making.

  • Thorough understanding of digital marketing tactics and tools. 

Desirable Education, Training and Experience:

  • 5 years of development or sales experience. 

  • Marketing experience and knowledge preferred.

  • Previous management experience required. 

  • Familiarity with the Springfield area.

  • Experience in a tourism-related organization is a plus.

  • Or any combination of education, training and experience that would qualify the individual for the position.

The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau was formed in 1979 as the hospitality arm of the Chamber of Commerce. The Bureau was incorporated independently as a not-for-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Missouri in 1989. The CVB is a marketing and service organization which contracts annually with the City of Springfield to promote economic development through travel and tourism.
