The Convention & Visitors Bureau earned re-accreditation from Destinations International, an umbrella organization for destination marketing organizations.

The CVB, a nonprofit marketing agency dedicated to growing the local economy through growth in the travel industry, was recognized during the Destinations International Annual Convention taking place this week in Anaheim, California.

“Although the accreditation and re-accreditation process is detailed and time consuming, it helps us be a better organization while recognizing our desire to excel,” said Tracy Kimberlin, president/CEO of the bureau.

Accreditation from the Destinations Marketing Accreditation Program indicates the CVB has met the rigorous standards set by the professional destinations marketing community. Accreditation standards cover a variety of topics including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor services, group services, sales, communications, membership, brand management, destination development, research/market intelligence, innovation and stakeholder relationships.

The bureau originally earned DMAP accreditation in 2009. In order to maintain accreditation, organizations must apply every four years.
