The CVB Group Sales Department works to attract a variety of groups to Springfield. In June, the following groups selected Springfield for their events.

• Missouri Federation of Republican Women, May 2013, 70 room nights
• Learning Insights, September 2012, 35 room nights

In other group sales activity:

• Sales manager Melissa Evans and a representative from University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center will travel to Dallas, TX, in August to represent Springfield at the American Society of Association Executives Annual Meeting and Expo.
• The bureau provided convention services in June for 14 groups totaling more than 18,300 delegates and 11,400 room nights.
• A sales blitz in June in which staff from local hotels participated resulted in 450 calls made to meeting planners. Those calls are now being processed.
