The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau recently submitted a recertification application and was approved to continue serving as the official destination marketing organization for Greene, Polk and Christian counties for the next five years.

The Missouri Division of Tourism, which manages the certification program, defines a DMO as a non-profit or benevolent corporation or government unit responsible for and actively engaged in the promotion and marketing of travel and tourism in Missouri supported by the organization's mission, charter, budget, funding sources and financial statements. To participate in the division's Marketing Matching Grant, a DMO must be certified through MDT.

The Springfield CVB has served as the DMO for Greene, Polk and Christian counties for several years.
