2025 has already been a big year for the local food scene. From long-awaited brick-and-mortar spots to creative new concepts, the 417 area has welcomed a lineup of exciting restaurants worth checking out. Here’s a look at the openings that have made a splash so far this year along with a couple making their debut in the next few weeks.

Show Me Chuy Italian Mexican Fusion

Show Me Chuy

Show Me Chuy brought a creative blend of Mexican and Italian cuisine to Springfield earlier this year. Led by Chef Jesus Garcia, the restaurant has already become known for its bold flavors, locally sourced ingredients, and inventive dishes that merge two beloved food traditions.

The Almighty Sando Shop

After making the leap from food truck to brick-and-mortar, The Almighty Sando Shop opened its doors this year and instantly leveled up Springfield’s sandwich scene. Guests have been enjoying their classic lineup of burgers, sandwiches, Cajun fries, and Kool-Aid pickles, along with an expanded vegan menu and some fun new surprises.

Q66 Food by Fire

Q66 launched its brick-and-mortar location on Springfield’s north side earlier this year, expanding its fan-favorite BBQ and Tex-Mex fusion. Guests have been able to enjoy their wood-fired classics, desserts, drinks, and several new dishes that make it a great stop for quick, grab-and-go meals.

The Submarina – Republic

The Sub Marina

The Submarina made its Republic debut this spring, bringing its popular subs, salads, and sides from its original Shell Knob location to a whole new audience. Locals have been loving the fresh, hearty options now available right in town.

ASA AL-FURAT

Earlier this year, ASA AL-FURAT opened its doors in downtown Springfield, an Iraqi coffee shop bringing a rich taste of Middle Eastern culture to Springfield. With dark, aromatic coffee, strong cardamom brews, and delicious traditional pastries, it’s quickly become a cozy spot for anyone craving something a little different and deeply flavorful.

The Table

The Table opened its doors to Springfield and has been busy ever since! The casual, yet cozy atmosphere greets you with a fireplace, tall ceilings, and a gift shop to browse. The menu is filled with everything from double smash patty burgers, Cajun pasta bowls, and a ribeye grilled to your liking. If you are in the mood for coffee or a glass of wine, they have a selection to choose from to sip on while you visit with friends and family!

Grace Kitchen 

Owner Patience Gigi plans to open Grace Kitchen in downtown Springfield on November 25th and serve delicious Nigerian food to the 417. What can you expect from the menu at Grace Kitchen you might be asking? A selection of pastries, soups, and the very well known jollof rice! You will also be able to order traditional meat pies, Egusi soup, and stew chicken.

Hatch & Harvest Café

Hatch & Harvest Cafe Menu Hatch & Harvest Cafe Menu

The west side of Springfield is gaining a new spot to enjoy breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. Hatch & Harvest Café has a sprawling menu, filled with everything from breakfast bowls, waffles, oats & berries, to burgers, club sandwiches, and even liver and onions! The Safe Spoon

The owners of Nixa, Missouri’s very own Sensitively Sweet Bakery, are opening a new spot in Springfield named The Safe Spoon! The Safe Spoon will be an allergen-free café, meaning that each dish will be created without dairy, gluten, eggs, nuts, soy, rice, or dyes. If you have a food allergy, then the Safe Spoon is where you will want to get your breakfast and lunch! They will be sourcing many ingredients locally, for what will truly be a delicious menu!

Hawaiian Bros

Springfield is about to get a little more aloha with Hawaiian Bros. coming to town straight from Kansas City. Think flavorful plate lunches, fresh poke bowls, and all the tropical vibes you could want, perfect for a tasty island escape without leaving Ozarks! The alleged opening date is February 2026!
