A new year means new restaurants, new food trucks and new locations for some great locally-owned spots in southwest Missouri! I hope you are ready to dive into some great food and beverages, because 2024 is bringing some delicious eats! 

London Calling Pasty Company

London Calling 14 MillNeil Gomme and Carrie Mitchell are no strangers to the food scene in the Ozarks. To much delight, they are bringing a new location of London Calling to Nixa at the 14 Mill Market. Before long, you will be able to pick up your favorite pasties, sausage rolls, fish and chips, and those delicious English beverages. Keep your eyes peeled, as they will also be announcing some new menu items as well. They will be adding some bar snacks, some sharable items, as well as adding some new traditional English main dishes.

The Gochu Handcrafted Korean BBQ Bowl 

The Gotchu Coming SoonIf you are not familiar with chef Leo Kim, you are about to be! Originally from Korea, but growing up in Argentina, Chef Kim has honed his skills all over the globe. He is a known sushi instructor and has helped open many restaurants across the U.S. Leo is set to open his new restaurant, The Gochu, handcrafted Korean BBQ bowl located inside of 14 Mill Market. The Gochu’s menu is filled with a variety of sandwiches, that include a Thai Chili fried chicken sandwich. They will also serve homemade chicken egg rolls, kimchi quesadillas, and Korean fried chicken. We can’t forget about the bowls, filled with brisket bulgogi, veggies and served on top of rice! Prepare your palates for flavor, for when The Gochu opens in January.

The cookie chain that has been sweeping the nation is set to open early 2024 with two locations in Springfield! One store will be at 2415 N. Glenstone Avenue, while the other is set to be around south Springfield near the Walmart on Independence. There will be new rotating flavors each day featuring favorites like chocolate chip and other flavors like raspberry cheesecake, brown cinnamon sugar and more.

The Gypsy 417

Those of you who are familiar with Chef Stephanie Wigger from Farm Fresh Steakhouse and Bakery that was in Nixa, or have been too Best of Luck Beer Hall, are going to be very excited to hear that she will be the chef for a new food truck that will be serving all those famous desserts, plus so much more! The Gypsy 417 food truck will be serving a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, soup, as well as delicious desserts. The menu is covered in dishes like coconut curry, chicken marsala and even baked tomato parmigiano.

Coastal Cuisine Mobile Eatery

Prepare yourself for one of the coolest food trucks to come to the 417! Coastal Cuisine food truck will be bringing a menu that focuses on fresh seafood, Asian fusion, BBQ, and delicious Cajun food! Not only will Coastal Cuisine be setting up at the local farmers markets, festivals, and breweries, but you will be able to hire them for your private events, such as family reunions, company meals, and weddings. They can customize a menu for your event with lobster rolls, chowders, fish tacos, and even Po’ Boys. Watch for them to hit the streets this year. 

Bigg Time Arcade

From the owners that brought you The Big Slice, Bigg Time Arcade is set to open early January 2024 in downtown Springfield. The barcade concept will feature several arcade games, billiards, AMI Jukebox and several pinball machines. You can also enjoy several golf simulators, a full bar, and delicious Big Slice pizza.

Fizz Sips-n-Sweets  

The tasty beverages that you have come to love from the Fizz Sips-n-Sweets truck is about to make some big changes! Under new ownership, the locally famous soda truck will have a new home base and will also be opening a second soda truck in 2024. Soon you will be able to grab those sodas that are mixed with classic flavors like vanilla, cherry, and cream, but at all your favorite festivals’ summer of 2024.

But wait, there’s more! There is a brand change coming as well, so be on the lookout for a new name for the beverage trucks in 2024, that will be announced soon. With one truck being set up at their new home base, the new truck will be traveling all over the 417. The trucks will be serving ice cream, edible cookie dough, cinnamon sugar pretzel bites, flavored sparking waters named Refresher waters, along with new sugar free, and diet options. The new location for the truck will be at the Red Racks DAV Thrift store at

Bada Bing Wings Food Truck 

From the masterminds behind Not’cho Ordinary Taco, comes a food truck that will be blowing your mind and your taste buds with the style of chicken wings they'll be creating. Bada Bing Wings will not only offer traditional wings, but also some styles you might not have tried. A play on peanut butter and jelly, using a Thai peanut sauce, and Thai pepper jam. Pop rock wings, that are finished with, you guessed it, strawberry pop rocks! They will even have a tikka masala with mint chutney and dill pickle wings! Bada Bing will of course off a variety of sides, sauces, as well as cauliflower wings, and a fryer dedicated for vegan options! Watch for the Bada Bing Wings truck this year. 

Springfield Brewing Co.

Springfield Brewing Co. announced in May and June 2023 that they were opening two new locations! One location will be located in the heart of Willard on the Historic Frisco Highline Trail. The space will feature a large tasting room with indoor and outdoor seating, as well as room for the brewers and distillers to experiment with wild fermentations and small-batch spirits from their Ty Iechyd Da Distillery.

The second tap and tasting room will service the east side of Springfield and the Rogersville / Strafford communities on MO-125. This new project will provide family and friends with a casual space to enjoy award-winning craft beers, small-batch spirits and wood-fired pizza. 

The Willard location plans to open in spring 2024 while the Rogersville location open date is still unknown.
