Springfield’s newest mini golf course, Getaway Golf, celebrates travel around the world and has quickly become a favorite of locals and tourists. It consist of two 18-hole courses, one intermediate course featuring U.S. landmarks and a more advanced course featuring international landmarks.
John Reinart, who developed the attraction with his family said, it’s an idea he dreamed of for a long time.
“Traveling has always been a big part of my life growing up,” he said. “I’ve had the luxury of being able to do so and it’s something that I think that everyone should experience either firsthand or through a putt every hole.”
On the U.S. course, golfers will encounter replicas of the St. Louis Gateway Arch, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Grand Canyon and the Statue of Liberty, among others. Next door on the international course you’ll putt past the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal and even the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Along the courses, there are also educational markers with information on the landmarks represented, providing a learning experience for mini golfers as well.

“Everyone’s just really loved what we’ve brought here: the quality, the theme, the idea,” said Reinart. “Just the entire concept, it’s really brought another something to do here in Springfield as far as fun, family activities.”
Getaway Golf is open March through December. Hours vary.
