A variety of groups are meeting in Springfield this fall representing the gamut of interests and industries. Local businesses are encouraged to make the groups feel at home with messages on marquees and through other methods that will make them feel welcome and enjoy their stay in the city.

The CVB’s sales department employs a variety of tactics to encourage groups to select Springfield for their events. Recent and upcoming events include:

  • Staff will participate in the Missouri Society of Association Executives Funfest golf tournament in Jefferson City and host the group’s membership luncheon Sept. 28-29.
  • Sales staff will have a booth at the Chamber of Commerce Business to Business Expo Oct. 1 at the Springfield Expo Center.
  • Sales manager Melissa Evans and a hotel representative will attend Collison Media - Rejuvenate Marketplace in Dallas, Texas, in October.
  • Sales manager Lisa Perez will represent Springfield at the Convention Industry Council’s Certified Meeting Planner Conclave in Reno.
  • Lance Kettering, executive director of the Springfield Sports Commission, will attend SPORTS in Shreveport and the National Association of Sports Commissions Market Segment Meetings in Colorado Springs in October.

The list below represents groups booked by the Convention & Visitors Bureau as well as groups booked directly through hotels and event venues. It does not represent every group coming to the city. The statistics represent anticipated attendees and room nights and are subject to change.

Learn more about how to get a group to the city by calling the CVB’s Sales Department at 417-881-5300 or 800-678-8767.
