Hotelier Gordon Elliott received the People Who Care Award in Best Western International's District 1.

Mr. Elliott, founder of Elliott Lodging, received the award for his revitalization of the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven, opening one of his hotels during the winter for needy families, assisting an employee who needed a home and for his work on the board of governors at Missouri State University.

The award was presented during the Best Western Convention in October. During the same convention, the Best Western Coach House Plus, which is an Elliott Lodging property, and the Best Western Springfield Airport Inn, owned by Harshad Patel, also received awards.
