SPRINGFIELD, MO - Visit Springfield has opened a redesigned Airport Welcome and Information Center at Springfield-Branson National Airport, creating a modern, interactive space that dramatically enhances travelers’ first impression of the city and makes visitor information easier to access.
The updated space features interactive digital kiosks, a refreshed visitor information desk, and improved visibility within the terminal. The kiosks provide 24-hour access to visitor information, local recommendations, and trip-planning tools, so travelers can begin exploring Springfield as soon as they arrive.
“First impressions matter, and for many travelers the airport is their first introduction to Springfield,” said Mark Hecquet, President and CEO of Visit Springfield. “This redesigned welcome center gives them an easier way to connect with local attractions, hotels, restaurants, events, and experiences as soon as they land. This is another step in our ongoing work to make Springfield more welcoming, more accessible, and easier to explore.”
The project was timed to complement Springfield-Branson National Airport’s terminal flooring improvements and was designed to fit the airport’s updated look and feel.

Visit Springfield and Springfield-Branson National Airport have a long history of working together to welcome visitors. The original airport visitor information center opened in 1998 and was later relocated to the Midfield Terminal when it opened in 2009. The redesigned center builds on that partnership while reflecting the way travelers plan and explore destinations today.
Visit Springfield worked with Dake Wells Architecture and Nabholz Construction to redesign the space as part of the airport’s terminal updates.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Thursday, May 7, at 1:00 p.m. at Springfield-Branson National Airport. Community partners, airport representatives, and hospitality industry stakeholders are invited to attend and get a first look at the new space.
